Will using compatibles affect the warranty of my machine?

It seems there are some misconceptions in this area. The Magnuson-Moss Warranty Act of 1975 states that warranty cannot be voided because of the use of aftermarket products. In the unlikely event that one of our products causes any problems with your printer, we will resolve any issues or replace the machine free of charge. Any manufacturer who states that a compatible consumable will void warranty is breaking the law!!
Most manufacturers have a number of clauses within their warranty terms that void the warranty. These usually include damage to the printer caused by the user, damage caused by installing non standard components, higher usage and workload than the printer's specification and damage caused by the use of paper or media that is out of the printer's specification.

If a consumable supplied by us causes damage to your printer then we do not expect the printer manufacturer to cover the cost of repair. This is where our warranty and guarantee takes effect.

You are also covered by UK and European laws and your basic statutory rights. Under the Sale of Goods and Services Act we have an obligation to supply products that are fit for purpose and offer value. If we sell a sub standard product then we have an obligation to replace the product and to rectify any damage directly caused by our product at no cost to the customer.

All products supplied by The Supplies Group Ltd are rigorously tested and quality control is of prime importance. By using our compatibles you are not invalidating your warranty, you are fully guaranteed and are not compromising quality in any way, you are simply making significant cost savings.

The Supplies Group Ltd. warrants The Supplies Group compatible consumables to be suitable for use in your printer and to be free of defects which could cause damage to your printer. Should it be shown that a printer is damaged due to the use of compatible consumables, The Supplies Group Ltd. will pay reasonable and customary charges for the repair of the printer.

The application of this warranty is as follows:

Initially we would ask that the customer contacts The Supplies Group should a fault occur on your printer, however if under warranty you may have already contacted your service provider.

A customer may be advised by the original printer manufacturer or by their authorised repair company, that their printer may have a fault directly attributable to the use of non-original consumables.

We ask our customers to make immediate contact with The Supplies Group’s Customer Services Department.

We use independent engineers to diagnose the technical issue. We will pay for the repair or supply a replacement printer should it be shown that The Supplies Group product is at fault.

The Supplies Group also sells a wide range of compatible consumables for, amongst others, Xerox Phaser (formerly Tektronix), HP, Konica Minolta, Oki and Epson. By purchasing a The Supplies Group compatible consumable users are simply reducing their printing costs, without compromising on performance.
