Multifunction machines have come a long way over the last decade and the fact this machine is basically a high-end printer with multifunction options, just makes it a fabulous choice for any busy company looking to maximise their productivity. This printer can handle printing just about any type of documentation you can think to throw at it and it also offers dynamic features like job accounting and colour password protection. This is definitely a grown up printer as it offers not only amazing features but serious money saving options too.
The other plus point to this printer is the fact it is run on Xerox ink and there are many devotees of the type of print the wax block cartridge produces. There are the usual four colours within the machine of cyan, magenta, yellow and black but with Phaser 8860 ink, you get the added bonus of running a really green machine. The ink blocks are incredibly easy to use and the page yields on the Xerox 8860 ink is the same for all four colours; a whopping 14,000 pages on each. This again cuts down on the pain of having to reorder and change consumable items in the machine. Paper capacity is also equally helpful, with a maximum storage of 1, 675 sheets, after the addition of extra paper trays.
Getting set-up happens with the minimum of hassle and the connectivity on the printer is either USB or Ethernet, as this a network ready machine. Use the installation CD to automatically select the appropriate drivers for either a PC or Mac.
The printer gives a very unique finish and most people like the tonality and glossiness that happen with Xerox’s wax block machines. The printer is able to print at 30 pages per minute for both colour and monochrome printing. It can also scan, copy and fax, with copy resolution of 600 x 600 dpi, print resolution of 2400 dpi FinePoint and scanning features to PC/Mac, email, desktop or private folders.
Everything inside the printer helps things to run completely efficiently including the 750 MHz processor and 1 GB memory. The printer is naturally able to undertake double-sided printing and can also run booklet prints, job accounting, learn your printing habits and warm up the printer just before you need it, offer a handy run
